Longmont Out Loud (LOL)

Longmont Out Loud (LOL) is an LLC business run out of Tuscan, AZ. Just kidding, it's run out of Longmont, CO. It was established with a mission to provide the area with safer, inclusive outlets for creative expression.

Established in 2023, LOL strives to weave together the performing arts in curated events that are highly collaborative. It is built on a foundation of theatrical practices, improvisational techniques, and production expertise. What that means and how that shows up, is different in every production.

By the end of 2024, our events showcased the talent of 69 local creatives with performance backgrounds ranging from stand-up comedy, short form improv, storytelling, poetry and pros, music, film making, real-time digital design, and culinary arts.

During our first Fall/Winter Season, LOL presented The Open Stages at The Times Collaborative, and The Momedy Club, at the Stewart Auditorium. LOL offered it's first class, Viola Spolin Drop-in.

The Sunday Comics have been running since February, 2024. For Mother's Day in 2024, LOL collaborated with The Matriarchy Presents, to bring Mom Com: A Mother's Day Comedy Showcase.

The 2024 Fall season closed with the first Farm to Stage show: Free-Range Comedy, presented at Ollin Farms, and the return of the Open Stage with host Aimee Herman.

In 2025  we are presenting our community with some new performance concepts and bringing back some old ones. LOL looks forward to continuing to offer new class line-ups and providing professional development opportunities for Boulder County and Denver Metro Area.

Mission

As a small production company, we are  founded on these five main principles:

1) To provide practice and performing spaces that are safer and supportive, inclusive and representative of all voices in the community
2) To pay creatives for their time and talent
3) To provide professional development for its members and community
4) To create highly collaborative events that are great quality while showcasing local talent
5) To create mutually supportive relationships with local businesses

With respect, Longmont Out Loud (LOL) acknowledges that the land on which we are performing has been inhabited by Indigenous people for more than 13,000 years. The Arapaho, Ute, Cheyenne, and the other nations associated with this area have ancestral ties to this land and have been mistreated (and continue to be mistreated) and forcibly removed with devastating impacts on their communities. LOL also acknowledges that this acknowledgement doesn't  replace taking action in our daily lives and finding ways to make positive changes in our local and global communities.
